ForgeSource Sourcing Quote Comparison for Building Alternatives

Bring the reference search, then make every factory answer the same building use, the same quantity, and the same destination. ForgeSource Sourcing coordinates that question set. It does not sell a named brand and it does not decide code acceptance.

Not the referenced brand, and not affiliated with that brand.

Buyer and supplier reviewing a module elevation on a jobsite table
Marked-up floor plan of a relocatable office

Lock the requirement before price talk

The first pass records occupancy, module dimensions, and the finish level the buyer expects to see on day one. If those three items move during quoting, the earlier numbers are archived rather than averaged.

A supplier is asked to restate assumptions. Silence is recorded as an open item, not as agreement.

Secondary steel members stacked for a building package

Separate the frame from the enclosure

Primary frame, secondary framing, purlin, and girt packages can be quoted alone or with insulated metal panel. The brief says which of those words are in the price and which remain local trades.

Rigid frame and cold-formed steel replies are not merged into one column until bay spacing and clear span are written the same way on both sheets.

Freight and crane notes pinned to a delivery board

Put logistics on their own lines

Destination, requested timing, packaging, and who unloads are commercial lines. A factory quotation that stops at the plant gate is labeled delivered-to-gate only if the buyer wrote that boundary.

Taxes, duties, and installation stay visible even when the buyer expects them to be zero, so a blank cell is not read as included.

Questions buyers raise while the brief is open

Scope

Can two shell prices be ranked immediately?

Only after both sheets use the same footprint, the same quantity, and the same list of exclusions. Otherwise the desk keeps them in separate columns.

Who chooses turnkey versus shell?

The buyer chooses. Turnkey still needs a written list of local permits, utility connections, and work the supplier will not perform.

Documents

Does a homepage badge travel with the quote?

No. The buyer asks which certificate or calculation applies to the quoted system, the plant, and the project jurisdiction.

What if the supplier cites HUD Code?

HUD Code, modular state programs, and site-built IBC paths are different regimes. The brief records which path the project is actually in.

Commercial

Is a budget required?

No. If the buyer shares one, it should show currency and whether it is per unit or for the whole order. It does not reserve capacity.

What does a supplier preference mean?

High-end, mid-range, budget, or undecided is the buyer preference. It is not a rating the desk has verified.
